Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
sifted powdered sugar
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer 2 minutes. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
(Cookies should still be white when done.)
Remove cookies from cookie sheets. Cool on wire racks.
Dust with powdered sugar. Store in airtight containers.
Yields about 4 dozen.
Pecan or cherry for center is optional.
