Nana'S Irish Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. unbleached flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. caraway seed
    2 Tbsp. soft butter
    1 egg
    1 c. raisins
    1 3/4 c. (about) buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients. With a fork, mix in egg and butter.
    Add raisins, stir well.
    Add buttermilk, a little at a time, just enough to make the batter very thick; it should be very hard to stir.
    Spoon it into a well-greased cast-iron skillet, sprinkle sugar over top.
    Bake about 45 minutes.
    Turn out of pan immediately, let bread cool.
