Gingersnaps - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. dark molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
granulated sugar
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

In large bowl, cream together shortening, 1 cup sugar.
Add molasses and egg; beat well.
Sift together flour, soda, spices and salt.
Add to first mixture. Mix well.
Cover and chill.
Form into 1 inch balls.
Roll each in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 about 8 minutes.
Let stand 1 minute.
Remove to wire rack and cool.
Makes about 4 dozen.
