Navajo Fry Bread(Makes 6) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    about 2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. instant nonfat dry milk
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. lard or solid shortening
    3/4 c. water
    salad oil
Preparation
    Mix flour, dry milk, baking powder and salt.
    With fingers, crumble in lard until like cornmeal.
    Add water; stir with a fork until dough clings together.
    Turn out on floured board and knead 4 or 5 minutes.
    Divide dough into 6 portions; shape each into a ball.
    On a floured board, press out 1 ball to a 6 to 7-inch round and cover loosely.
    Repeat with remaining dough.
    Deep-fry rounds in hot oil as directed.
    Drain on paper towels; serve hot.
