Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
dash of salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Line cookie sheets with foil.
Lightly grease foil.
Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light. Add egg; beat until creamy.
Stir in vanilla, flour and salt.
Add chocolate chips and nuts.
Mix until well blended.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 3-inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set.
(Cookies are soft when hot but become crispy as they cool.)
Cool completely on foil, then peel foil from cookies.
Makes 2 dozen.
