Mushroom Spinach Strata(Breakfast - Brunch) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. onion, chopped
    8 to 10 slices white bread, trimmed and halved diagonally
    1 c. Swiss cheese, shredded
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen spinach, thawed, drained and minced
    3 eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    pinch of black pepper
Preparation
    Grease a 10-inch quiche or pie pan and set aside.
    In a saucepan, melt the butter and saute the mushrooms for about 5 minutes.
    Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon and set aside. Add the chopped onion to the pan; saute for 5 minutes and remove pan from heat.
