"Pop Off" Or "Coffee Can Bread" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. oil
    4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast, ginger, 1 tablespoon sugar and water in a warm bowl until it bubbles about 10 minutes.
    Then add 2 tablespoons sugar, evaporated milk, salt and oil.
    Add flour one cup at a time until dough is heavy and thick.
    Sprinkle on enough flour to handle then divide into two halves.
    Put in two well greased coffee cans (1 pound) and cover with well-greased plastic lids. Let stand in warm place to rise.
