Tennessee Boiled Custard - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
4 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat eggs, add other ingredients (except vanilla).
Cook mixture in a double boiler with water below boiling point and cook until mixture coats a spoon.
Cool; add vanilla and nutmeg, if desired.
Serve cold with whipped cream or as floating islands with baked meringue on top.
