Hungarian Shortribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 or 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    4 lb. shortribs (bone in)
    2 onions, sliced
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 c. water, divided
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp. paprika
Preparation
    Brown ribs on all sides.
    Add onions and cook until tender. Combine remaining ingredients.
    Pour over ribs and cook until meat is tender (2 or 3
    hours).
    Slowly thicken gravy.
    Serve over noodles.
