Martin'S Minestrone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pound spicy Italian sausage
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 medium onion, diced
    2 Tbsp. minced garlic
    1 tsp. basil
    1 cup sliced carrots
    2 16-ounce cans diced tomatoes
    3 16-ounce cans beef broth
    2 cups shredded cabbage
    1 16-ounce can white kidney beans
    1 cup frozen green beans
Preparation
    In a stock pot, heat oil. Add sliced sausage and brown. Add onion, garlic, carrots and basil & cook for 8 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients except for white beans. Bring to boil, then cover and simmer for 1 hour.
    Add beans (with liquid) then simmer an additional 20-30 minutes.
    Serve hot with warmed sliced Italian bread.
