Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) broiler fryer chicken, cut up
    2 to 2 1/4 qt. water
    1/2 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    2 tsp. parsley flakes
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in a 5-quart Dutch oven or kettle. Cover and bring to a boil. Skim fat. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the chicken is tender. Make dumplings as directed on recipe. I use parsley dumplings.
