Lemon Coconut Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. lemon Jell-O pudding
    1 lemon, sliced
    1 c. flaked coconut
    vanilla wafers
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Cook the pudding mix (not instant) by recipe except add 1 lemon sliced to pudding while cooking.
    Set aside egg whites.
    When done, remove lemon and scrape off pudding.
    Set aside lemon.
    Mix in the coconut.
    In Pyrex or Corning Ware baking pan, put vanilla wafers to cover bottom.
    Cover these with layer of pudding and alternate with pudding and wafers until pudding is used up.
    Beat egg whites left and add 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
    Beat until stiff peaks form.
    Cover pudding and put in oven until brown.
