Mock Shepherd'S Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 carrots
    1 c. frozen peas
    garlic powder to taste
    regular or instant mashed potatoes (for 6)
    shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Brown the ground beef with chopped onion.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Precook carrots.
    Precook peas.
    Remove beef from pan and remove as much grease as possible.
    Put beef in large bowl.
    Make gravy in frypan.
    Pour over beef.
    Add vegetables and mix.
    Pour into ungreased cake pan (preferably Corning).
    Cover with mashed potatoes.
    Add cheese over top potatoes.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until cheese melts and browns slightly.
