Buttered Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. peas or 2 pkg. frozen peas
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
4 small onions, minced
1/2 head lettuce, shredded
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
3 Tbsp. salad oil
3/4 c. boiling water
1 tsp. sugar
Preparation

Put peas, onions, lettuce, sugar, salt, nutmeg, parsley and oil in a heavy saucepan.
Add boiling water.
Cover tightly and cook on high heat for 10 minutes.
Turn the heat to low and cook 10 minutes more, or until peas are tender.
Serve with some of the broth over them.
Serves 4.
