Royal Brittle Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. walnut halves
    1 c. pecan halves
    1 1/2 c. candied cherries, cut
    1 1/2 c. candied pineapple, cut
    1 c. blanched almonds (whole)
    1/2 c. whole filberts
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. corn syrup
    orange food color
    1/2 tsp. oil of orange
Preparation
    Spread nuts, cherries and pineapple in a pan about 1/2-inch thick.
    Blend sugar, water and corn syrup.
    Cook to 300\u00b0 without stirring.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in food color to tint along with oil of orange.
    Pour hot syrup back and forth over nut mixture to cover all.
