Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
    6 c. flour (self-rising)
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over sugar and shortening; let cool until lukewarm.
    Add yeast and let dissolve.
    When yeast dissolves, add 2 cups of flour at a time, beating real good after each 2 cups. Let rise until doubled in bulk, then roll out and let rise again. Bake at 400\u00b0 until done.
    Spread tops of rolls with butter.
