    1/2 c. shelled pecans
    2 large apples (Granny Smith)
    1 stick butter, softened
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 scant tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    whipped cream
    fresh apple slices
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Chop pecans finely.
    Peel, core and chop apples to equal 2 1/2 cups.
    Chop the size of thumbnail.
    Set aside.
