Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white corn meal
    2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Sift meal 3 times and mix with boiling water.
    Stir until smooth and free of lumps.
    Add salt, shortening, milk and beaten egg yolks.
    Beat whites until stiff; fold in.
    Pour into greased baking dish.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Serve warm in baking dish.
