Honey Whole Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 to 4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. honey
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, yeast and salt; mix well.
    In saucepan, heat milk, water, honey and shortening until warm.
    Add to flour mixture.
    Add egg; blend at low speed until moistened.
    Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
    By hand, stir in remaining all-purpose flour to make firm dough.
    Knead on floured board until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
    Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top.
    Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled, 1 hour.
    Divide into 2 parts and form into loaves.
    Put into two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
    Let rise again until double, about 1/2 hour.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
    Spread butter over top of each loaf.
