Country Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. milk (scalded)
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 stick butter, softened
    1 tsp. vanilla
    stale bread
Preparation
    Blend sugar and butter in bottom of 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
    Add hot milk to egg mixture, mixing well.
    Break and add bread until you reach desired consistency (usually 1/2 loaf).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until pudding sets in center and golden brown around edge.
