1 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Use iron skillet.
Heat oil until it begins to smoke.
(If oil is not hot enough, flour will lump; if too hot, it will burn.) Slowly add flour, stirring constantly, until it is dark brown (for a couple of minutes).
