Leek Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 Tbsp. margarine
    2 c. chopped leeks
    1 small can mushroom pieces (with juice)
    1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. diced parsnips (optional)
    6 c. chicken broth
    2 tsp. dill weed
    5 c. diced raw potatoes
    1 c. milk
    diced ham (optional)
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large kettle, saute leeks, mushrooms, carrots, celery and parsnips in margarine for 5 minutes. Add broth, dill weed, salt and pepper. Add potatoes and bay leaf.
    Cook until potatoes are tender. Remove bay leaf.
    Add milk and meat (if used).
