7 Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    3 green onions, chopped
    1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
    1/2 pkg. frozen peas (do not cook)
    1 1/2 to 2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. grated cheese
    8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
    Put all lettuce in bottom.
    Put next items in order given. Refrigerate 8 to 10 hours before serving.
    Do not stir until serving time.
