Ingredients

1/4 c. butter or oleo
3/4 c. pure maple syrup (not maple flavored syrup)
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Preparation

In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
Stir in maple syrup; cool slightly.
Beat in egg.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into syrup mixture.
Add nuts.
Pour into greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool.
