Old Fashioned Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter flavored shortening
1/4 c. cold water
beaten egg
Preparation

Mix flour and salt in bowl.
Cut in 1/2 of shortening until particles are the size of large beans.
Add the remaining shortening and cut until these particles are the size of peas. Sprinkle with water, mixing with fork until flour is moistened. Gather dough together with fingers so it cleans the bowl.
Press into ball.
Divide dough in half and shape each into a 6 to 8-inch circle.
Roll out about 1 inch larger than an inverted 9-inch pie pan.
Grease pie pan with shortening.
Ease bottom pastry into pan. Brush inside bottom crust with beaten egg.
