Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 orange
2 Tbsp. shortening
boiling water
1 egg
1 c. cranberries, cut in half
Preparation

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a 1-cup measure, mix the juice and grated rind from the orange.
Add the shortening and enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
Add the egg and cranberries and mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured 8 x 4-inch loaf pan and let stand for 20 minutes.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes.
This recipe is easily doubled.
