Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Roll in ball size of walnut, flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
