Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. dark molasses, dissolved in 1 c. hot water
Preparation

Pour molasses and hot water into big mixing bowl.
Add shortening, sugar and beaten egg to molasses mixture.
Beat well. Add dry ingredients, a little at a time, mixing well.
Bake in greased pans, 9 x 11-inches or 2 round pans at 375\u00b0 until done, usually 30 to 35 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped topping or ice cream.
