Ingredients

2/3 c. butter or margarine, soft
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. rolled oats (quick or old fashioned), uncooked
Preparation

Beat butter until creamy. Beat in sugar gradually. Blend in egg, water and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add to creamed mixture, blending well. Stir in oats.
For easier handling, chill dough about 1 hour. Roll out on floured board to 1/8-inch thick. Cut with heart shaped cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven about 12 minutes or until golden brown. When cool, frost with powdered sugar frosting tinted pink and leave some white.
May mix a little butter in with the frosting mix.
