Mom'S Congo Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2/3 c. shortening (try canola oil for less fat and moister cookies)
    1 lb. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. pecan pieces
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Melt shortening and add sugar.
    Cool.
    Add eggs and dry ingredients.
    Add chips, vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into a greased pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
    Cool and cut in squares.
