Candy Cane Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. solid shortening
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. confectioners sugar.
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. flour
    red food coloring
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Mix shortening, margarine, sugars, egg, almond extract and vanilla thoroughly. Mix flour and salt; stir into shortening mixture slowly. After mixing thoroughly, divide dough in half. Add red food coloring to 1 of the halves of dough. Mix to evenly distribute color.
