Gayle Baked Country Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 lb. ham
    water to cover (if you soak overnight)
    5 c. water
Preparation
    Soak ham overnight in cold water to cover.
    In later afternoon, drain ham.
    Place in roasting pan, skin side up.
    Add 5 cups water; cover tightly.
    (Put note on oven door, \"Not to open until next morning.\")
    Place ham in cold oven; set temperature at 500\u00b0.
    As soon as oven reaches 500\u00b0, bake for 10 minutes.
    Turn off heat; leave 3 hours.
    Again, turn on oven to 500\u00b0.
    When oven reaches 500\u00b0, bake for 10 minutes.
    Turn off heat; let it set overnight without opening oven door.
