Oatmeal Whole Wheat Bread(Makes 2 Large Loaves) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
2 Tbsp. lard
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. white flour
4 c. whole wheat flour
Preparation

Add oatmeal to water; cook for 2 minutes.
Add lard, milk, molasses and salt.
Cool until just warm or lukewarm.
Add yeast; let stand for 5 minutes.
Beat thoroughly.
Add flour; mix well. Turn out on board and knead, sprinkling flour as necessary to keep it from sticking.
Knead at least 10 minutes.
Put in greased bowl; let rise until double.
Form into loaves; put in greased pans.
Let rise until double.
Bake at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
I usually throw in a little bran and wheat germ, too, about 1/4 cup of each.
