Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 onions, sliced
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. uniodized salt
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and onions.
    Add garlic and salt and cover mixture with cracked ice.
    Mix thoroughly and let stand 3 hours; drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over cucumbers. Heat to boiling point and seal.
    Yields 8 pints.
