Beef Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. cubed beef, venison or ground beef
    5 to 7 c. water
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped celery
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. barley per each lb. meat
    1 bay leaf
    1 pkg. Lipton beefy onion soup mix
    1 lb. can stewed tomatoes
Preparation
    Boil meat in water until tender.
    Add the remainder of ingredients and simmer for 50 minutes.
    Add water if too thick.
