Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour, sugar and baking powder together.
Cream butter until soft; add egg, then vanilla.
Add sifted flour, mixing well. Let chill and roll in balls.
Press flat with fork dipped in milk.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until light brown.
