Kansas City Barbecue Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 (16 oz.) bottle ketchup
    1/2 c. molasses
    dash of Tabasco sauce
    1/4 c. mustard
    2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. liquid smoke
    1/4 c. lemon juice
Preparation
    Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in ketchup and molasses until smooth.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring frequently, for 20 minutes.
    Cover and refrigerate. Makes 4 cups.
