Company Chicken Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices white bread
    3 c. cooked diced chicken
    1/2 c. each: chopped onion, celery and bell pepper
    1 can sliced water chestnuts
    3 Tbsp. finely chopped pimento
    2 sliced hard-boiled eggs
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 slightly beaten eggs
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 c. grated sharp cheese
    buttered crumbs
Preparation
    Butter bread and cut into cubes.
    Place half in 14-inch baking dish. Combine chicken, vegetables, mayonnaise, boiled eggs and seasonings.
    Spread over bread cubes.
    Put remaining bread over this mixture.
