Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. (heaping) oleo
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup and water and cook together until it forms a hard ball in cold water.
    Then add peanuts and butter; cook in the syrup until it turns brown.
    Add vanilla, remove from heat.
    Add the soda; mix well.
    Pour into buttered pans, spread thinly.
    When cool, break it.
