Mother'S Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. shortening
    pinch of salt
    2/3 c. milk (scant)
    2 apples
    cinnamon
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking powder, shortening, salt and milk.
    Roll and cut in 4 squares.
    Pare and halve apples and add cinnamon.
    Fold around apples.
    Boil together sugar, water and butter for a couple of minutes.
    Pour over apples.
    Bake until apples test done. Baste often while baking.
