Prune Sour Cream Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. pitted prunes (about 12 oz.)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 Tbsp. pure vanilla
1/2 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
2/3 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Pour boiling water over prunes; let stand for 15 minutes. Drain; cut into sixths.
Set aside.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Remove 1/4 cup of mixture; toss with prunes.
