Ingredients

3 1/2 c. mixed diced fruits and peels
1 1/4 c. dark seedless raisins
1 1/4 c. light seedless raisins
1 c. walnuts, chopped
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. shortening
4 large eggs
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. grape juice
Preparation

Mix fruits, peels, raisins and nuts.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
Sprinkle 1/4 cup over fruit mixture, mixing well.
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with grape juice, beating until smooth after each addition.
Pour batter over fruits and mix well.
Line two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pans with paper.
Bake in slow oven at 275\u00b0 for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until done.
