Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. cabbage, chopped
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 c. vinegar
    2 to 3 medium onions
    2 bell peppers (optional)
    4 oz. pimento (optional)
Preparation
    Boil sugar, water, salt, mustard seed and vinegar for 3 minutes and cool.
    Pour all ingredients over cabbage.
    Let stand 12 hours and serve.
    Keeps well in refrigerator for weeks.
