Monkey Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. potato water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/4 c. water
    6 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1 c. scalded milk
    2 sticks oleo, melted
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    Add salt to potato water. Cream sugar and shortening.
    Mix alternately the flour, milk, potato water, yeast and sugar mixture. This should be a stiff dough. Stir.
    Let rise until doubled in size.
    Knead well. Roll into 1/4-inch thickness. Cut in strips.
    Dip each piece in melted butter. Drop helter skelter in tube pan.
    Let rise until doubled. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Turn upside down on plate.
