Aunt Fanny'S Baked Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. yellow squash, cooked until tender
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. cracker crumbs, divided
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. butter, divided
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mash squash; add onion, 1/2 c. cracker crumbs, pepper, eggs, 1/4 c. butter, sugar and salt.
    Mix well and pour into a buttered 2-qt. baking dish.
    Melt remaining butter and spread on top. Sprinkle with remaining cracker crumbs.
    Bake at 375
    degrees for 1 hour.
