Raisin Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. cream or milk
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 rounded tsp. flour
    3 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
    1 baked pie shell
    Meringue
Preparation
    Place the raisins in a saucepot with water to cover; stew until tender; drain.
    Add the cream, sugar, mixed with the flour, and cook for 5 minutes.
    Beat the egg yolks, stir in a little of the hot mixture, then add all together and cook until thickened; cool. Add the nuts (optional).
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Cover with meringue and brown lightly in a moderate oven.
