Toasted Mushroom Canapes("A Favorite From The '76 Cookbook.") - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 lb. mushrooms, coarsely chopped
    1/3 c. onion, minced
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
    1/2 c. sour cream
    12 slices white sandwich bread
Preparation
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet.
    Saute the mushrooms and onions 5 minutes.
    Blend flour, salt and pepper.
    Cook over low heat, stirring 1 minute.
    Gradually stir in sour cream and cook, stirring until thickened.
    Cool.
    Make sandwiches of the bread and mushroom mixture.
    Cut into quarters and saute in the remaining butter until browned on both sides.
    Makes 24.
    May be frozen.
    Heat on a cookie sheet in a 400\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
