Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3 eggs
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks; add 1 cup sugar, cornstarch, milk, salt and vanilla.
    Heat to almost boiling, then add 3/4 cup sugar which has been caramelized.
    Beat egg whites, adding 6 tablespoons sugar. Place mixture in baked pie crust, then add meringue.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until brown.
