Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. sliced, pared apples (6)
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 unbeaten egg
Preparation
    Place apples in greased 6 x 10-inch dish.
    Mix remaining ingredients together with fork until crumbly and sprinkle over apples.
    Melt and cool 1/3 cup shortening and pour over top. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
    Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
