Lebkuchen - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. brown molasses
1 c. sour cream (with 2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts (hickory nuts or walnuts)
5 c. flour (more may be needed)
Preparation

Cream
shortening, eggs and sugar together.
Add molasses
and sour cream and mix well.
Add remaining ingredients. Add
enough flour
to
make a stiff dough.
Refrigerate dough overnight.
Roll out dough on a floured board, 1/4-inch thick. Cut
dough
in pieces
(squares).\tPlace
on
greased
cookie sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 12 minutes.
